    Introduction

    Nokia C3 is young and social, simple and reliable. Messaging and social networking are the very heart of this handset. But are they enough of a head-turner to become a phone's key selling points? Sure thing! Just add a pinch of charisma and hang a price tag fit for the masses and you've got yourself a recipe for a true love story.

    At its Indonesia launch, the phone drew massive crowds and it seems success in Europe is only a matter of time – with a price tag of about 100 euro. Compromises are always implied in this price bracket but the Nokia C3 does well to focus all attention on its strengths. It’s a budget package – no doubt about that – but so wonderfully balanced.     The cheapest Android 2.2 phone, Huawei IDEOS, has been launched in the Kenyan market.  Priced at Sh 8000, the Huwaei smart phone is the expected the use of Internet among the 20 million Kenyan consumers of mobile phone services.

    The IDEOS is the latest in a string of devices the Chinese firm has rolled out aiming to capture a share of the growing consumer internet market

    To remind you more about the smartphone, it will run Android 2.2 [Froyo], feature a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen, 528MHz processor, 3.2MP camera, brightness, proximity and accelerometer sensors built in, and MicroSD storage.

    When Nokia announced the C3 in April and promised to have the phones in the market by the end or third 1/4 of the year, we complained. Now from the media assault launched in Nairobi through Radio, Newspaper and TV adverts, C3 is set to be in a shop near you from Wednesday.

    Daggers are drawn and even though Safaricom said tehy wont engage in price wars, all indications are that they are really not taking the challenges lying down. I think that for the first time, Safaricom is really scared of the competition. You should have seen that on Friday (Friday reviews) when the following two promotions were launched by the competitors.

    Sorry for Apple, but the Touch trademark actually belongs to HTC. So what’s HTC going to do about it? Nothing, they’re going to be nice about the whole trademark infringement issue until they see how it affects them. While many can differentiate the two I imagine this would make looking up for information on the two products just that much more difficult.

    Ching-hung Wang (transliterated from Chinese), marketing manager of HTC pointed out that he does not think Apple's iPod touch was targeting HTC since Apple should put its focus on bigger companies like Google, Yahoo and Microsoft.
